Significant progress has been achieved

The first sewn sample of the technical work pant from Industrious Britches

Time is progressively going by, and each day feels like I am losing ground, yet I have reminded myself that this is the first take at an industry large and saturated with products and customer choices. The questions constantly being asked in my mind are the following:

How do I differentiate my brand from the competition?

First and foremost, our products will be sourced and manufactured in the USA. That is the differentiator between IB and the competition; however, more brands are finding the USA to be a very important factor in marketing to the workers of this great nation. The competition in this field is still relatively small but on the rise. Another point is remembering my years of service to the blue-collar world. I have been making things for 28 years; I know my needs as a worker and now realize that I can use my experiences to solve age-old questions.

How do I market and sell products?

This is a question that I still have a hard time answering because I have always been one of those who know what I want and don’t like to be sold to. I want the equipment to do my job to the best of my ability. The product will sell itself, and we stand behind our products here at IB. It is a matter of getting the product to the folks who want a better fit and more functionality in their workwear. Instagram is an excellent product introducer, but you have to have reach to get to the folks who can use your product, and I think that will come. Still, eventually, we will have to throw out some ads to get in front of the eyes of the men and women who can use better gear for a reasonable price. I am always willing to hear some great ideas if you have some, and I would be willing to try unique ways of getting the word out.

How are we better?

IB is 100% focused on the customer first, feedback about the product, and product improvement from the beginning so that we can sell to the market that makes things. We are not interested in becoming the brand of hipster fashion. We want to pay homage to the people who work, get dirty, and keep this country turning and moving. Our focus is not tied to trends but to your needs as a blue-collar worker.

I am looking forward to hearing the praise and complaints about the products. We will do everything we can to help you look good on your job site or in your place of building.

Whether you work outside, inside, or a little bit of both, depending on the day, we at IB will be here to support you with our gear lineup, which will be slowly released throughout the year. This is definitely a passion project that I feel good about.

I will continue to build and move forward in my career as we get IB up and running. It will be slow out of the gates, but rest assured that the money made here at IB will be used to create better products and try to decrease prices with increased production. The more we sell, the more we make, and the more we make, the less it costs to produce, even here in good old America. We can decrease prices together, and together with you, IB can become your place to get the best workwear made in America that you will be proud to wear and represent.

Do Great Work!!
